Been-green Charm
In 2016, Kevin discovered a small plate while exploring the antique market in Dehua. Adorned with a delicate bean-green glaze both inside and out, the plate features an unglazed foot with a carved “全” character at the center of the base. Over nearly a century, a few hairline cracks, known as “冲线” in Chinese, have appeared, which are normal signs of aging. Kevin embarked on a creative journey with this plate, accentuating the “冲线” with Kintsugi and KOU, and enhancing the rim with brass to give it a fresh, new look. This plate embodies the wabi-sabi aesthetic—imperfect yet authentically beautiful. With a diameter of about 10cm, this versatile small plate can serve multiple purposes. Use it as a cup saucer for your favorite beverage, a vanity tray for cherished jewelry, or integrate it into your tea ritual as a petite cup saucer. Feel free to explore various ways to incorporate it into your daily life. Take it home today and create your own stories with this unique piece.

Antique Minnan Red Lacquer Tray
A Folk Object, Rejoined with Daily Tea This traditional lacquer tray comes from the Hokkien (Minnan) region, carrying the quiet weight of hundreds of years of local life. Once part of everyday folk culture, it was shaped not for display, but for use—passed from hand to hand, table to table. The deep red lacquer surface, softened by time, holds a central pattern typical of Minnan aesthetics: grounded, symbolic, and restrained. The unique deep red of Minnan lacquer is the color of old temples and family altars—warm, sheltering, and sacred. Today, it finds a natural place again—beneath a teapot, beside a few cups—returning to the rhythm it was always meant for. This is not a revived replica. It is a real object, simply continuing its role. How It Feels Grounded, Warm, Assured Placed on a tea table, the tray immediately adds weight—both physical and emotional. The lacquer surface absorbs light rather than reflecting it, creating a calm visual anchor for the tea session. Its edges are subtly raised and softly worn, shaped by years of handling. There’s a sense of quiet reliability when you set a hot teapot on it—stable, confident, unhurried. It doesn’t compete with the tea.It supports it. Why It’s Different Folk Craft, Not Formal Ritual Authentic Minnan LacquerwareRooted in southern Fujian folk traditions, not court or export styles. Original Red Lacquer SurfaceNaturally aged, carrying depth that cannot be replicated. Balanced, Functional FormDesigned for real use—stable as a teapot stand or cup tray. Hand-Finished DetailsEdges and surface show human touch, not factory precision. High Value, Everyday RoleChosen for daily tea life, not archival preservation. Ideal For Teapot stand or cup tray Gongfu tea tables seeking warmth and history Pairing with ceramic, clay, or lacquer teaware Homes that value objects with lived-in presence Built for Daily Use Solid structure with reassuring weight Lacquer surface suitable for regular tea sessions Natural signs of age are part of its character Wipe clean after use; avoid soaking To maintain its luster, simply wipe with a soft, damp cloth. Like the tea it carries, this tray thrives on gentle attention. Taiwu Perspective Some tea objects elevate the ritual.Others hold it steady. This tray does both—quietly carrying the past, while making space for the present.
